Who hasn't grown up with iron-on beads? What a wonderfully creative way to make something. For children, iron-on beads stimulate fantasy and imagination. It also helps develop motor skills. And it also challenges you to think and be creative. In addition, it is wonderfully relaxing to do. Of course also for adults. But we now know that all that plastic is not really sustainable. We are therefore very happy to be able to offer a sustainable alternative at De kleine lama! The NABBI BioBeads set – Farm life is 100% sustainable and non-toxic.
The material that NABBI BioBeads uses is Biodolomer. This is much more sustainable than bioplastic and it is fully compostable. No toxic materials or dyes are used. The raw materials come from Sweden (rapeseed oil) and Norway (lime) and in their factory in Sweden this is processed into sustainable iron-on beads and pegboards, the well-known iron-on bead boards.

To smoothe
When ironing, use a non-stick baking mat or baking paper that you fold in half. Set the temperature to medium or hot and then make circular movements. It may take a little longer for the beads to melt together properly than you are used to with plastic beads. Always have ironing done by an adult. Please note: do not iron these beads together with plastic iron-on beads, that will not work.
Extra tip: In addition to ironing, ironing beads can also be used for other beautiful creations. Think of 2D and 3D items, making jewelry with rope or using glue. What beautiful thing are you going to make?
