Cork stopper, conical, Ø 30-25 mm and 3.8 cm high
Used for example for:
- 5L Bottles
Use:
All types of corks must be properly prepared before corking. Failure to do so can damage the corks or the corking tools. Simply immerse the corks in hot water for about 3 minutes at home, or place them covered over boiling water. This will soften them, making corking easier.
Caution:
Be careful not to over-wet the corks, as this can damage them.
After corking, the bottles should be left upright for a day. This ensures that the cork conforms to the inner wall of the bottleneck. Then, place the bottles horizontally to prevent the cork from drying out (the wine "rinses" the cork) and to ensure good gas exchange between the inside of the bottle and the environment. Check the corks for leaks after two or three days. If a leak is detected, the cork should be replaced.
