Chimney cleaner with FSC® fire insurance

With the chimney cleaner block from Golden Flame you can easily clean the chimney so that you can safely use your fireplace or stove. The cleaner your flue, the safer you burn with more efficiency. The effect of the chimney cleaning block is the same as a traditional chimney sweep. When using our block, your house (council) is not at risk of a soot shower due to an improper sweeper. Fire insurance Our chimney cleaner includes fire insurance. In order to be able to claim insurance, the purchase and warranty voucher must be completed completely and correctly and emailed to info@goldenflame.nl.TeerlaagIn a burning fire, tar and soot are carried along by flue gases and deposited in the flue. This creates a thick, hard layer of tar. This tar layer is very flammable. Because the channel slowly silts up, it draws less, causing your combustion products to burn incompletely, causing even more tar to be deposited. With a high-heated fire there is a great risk that the tar will catch fire, causing a chimney fire.

Prevent chimney fires
Some tips to prevent chimney fires:

Never light the fire with newspapers or cardboard. The suction of the duct can suck burning pieces of paper into the duct and ignite the flammable tar. Use our brown or white firelighters in combination with kindling wood and possibly lighter fluid. Another option is to use our paraffin fire logs. All you need to do is light the specially treated paper around the block. This paper will not be sucked up.
Always use dry wood! Wet wood burns incompletely, causing 2 to 3 times as much tar to be formed and deposited. It is also more harmful to the environment.
Do not raise the fire too high.
When Chimney Cleaner block burns
You can tell by a number of symptoms when it is time to use a chimney cleaner:

If damp spots appear. This is melted tar and is a fire hazard.
If the fire burns poorly (poor draft).
If smoke enters the living room (poor draft).
When tar and soot particles fall down.
If the flue becomes very hot.
One block is enough to clean your chimney. We recommend that you use a chimney cleaner block after 60 heating cycles.

Chimney cleaner operation
The block burns for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. After this, the block continues to smolder for some time. By allowing the block to burn up in its entirety and smoke it out completely, the process of cleaning the chimney is initiated. Within 8-14 days, the harmless tar particles will fall down and your chimney will be cleaned. Metal parts are not affected.

Instructions
Remove the block from the cardboard box and place the block in the middle of the fireplace or stove. Light the paper ends of the block. Do not place in an already burning fireplace or stove. The chimney block must be completely burned out without adding other fuels. To such an extent that the chimney block has completely smoldered out. The deposits and soot particles loosen within 1 to 2 weeks and fall down and/or, if the stove is burning, exit through the pipe. You can leave the remains of the block behind. This disappears with the next fire. After burning the chimney block, firewood may be burned again.
