A honey meter is a device necessary for setting mead. This hydrometer for measuring sugar concentration is calibrated in Balling degrees.

Measuring range honey meter: 20 -50°Blg. It is the only honey sugar meter on the market with a scale up to 50°Blg.

The convenience of the device are colored ranges of sugar concentrations suitable for setting individual types of mead:
39-47°Blg - Mead;
28-33°Blg – trinia;
22-25°Blg - Czworniak.


Thanks to the device, it is also possible to calculate the potential alcohol content in the finished mead (12-18%).

How to use:
The tested solution should be at 20°C at the time of measurement. The test tube should be filled to 2/3 with the analyzed co-wort. The liquid must be free of solid particles and gas bubbles. The amount of liquid should be such that the float placed in the test tube floats freely and does not touch the bottom or walls of the test tube. The measurement is made according to the indications of the upper meniscus.
