Fermenting instead of making a compost!

With the Bokashi kitchen bucket, you can ferment your own kitchen waste at home. By mixing kitchen waste with a bit of Bokashi starter (which is for sale), valuable organic material is created. The added Effective Microorganisms in the Bokashi starter ensure that the present fresh VFG waste starts to ferment and therefore does not rot.

Dimensions of the bucket: 31x27x35cm

How to use this kitchen bucket
You can make GFT-Bokashi yourself from small-scale kitchen waste and any other kind of plant remains. With a good fermentation, rotting and stench do not stand a chance.

Preparation:
  1. Cut organic waste into small pieces.
  2. Spread a small amount of Bokashi starter on the bottom of the kitchen bucket.
  3. Place a layer of fresh organic waste in the bucket.
  4. Distribute again a small amount of Bokashi starter on the GFT waste.
  5. Press the VFG waste.
  6. Close the Bokashi kitchen bucket with the lid.
  7. Repeat this process until the bucket is full.
  8. Tap the collected juice daily. This juice can be used as plant food for indoor and garden plants. Dilute the Bokashi juice with 100 parts of water.
  9. Allow the GFT to ferment for 1-2 weeks in the Bokashi kitchen bucket.
  10. The GFT-Bokashi is ready when it has a sweet-sour smell.
  11. This can now be directly incorporated into the soil of the garden or stored at the other compost, in order to work in later.
  12. Practical use of GFT Bokashi is further described in this brochure.
